…can you expect to the World?
Times are changing rapidly, globalization has changed our way of life and we must prepare for the impact of those changes. Every contribution we make will be crucial, as a wave that is spreading or as a stone thrown to the water when makes it move.
By studying we must try to refine and develop skills, thinking on making a contribution, not only for the companies where we work but also for the economy and development of our society and our countries. This is one of the reasons why I am studying the Master of Science in International Marketing Management, to become better at my work, to achieve my goals and successfully manage the marketing department at DIRECTV looking to fulfill customer needs, offering what clients are demanding, providing different services to the changing market and bringing entertainment to their homes.
Today, we do not know what to expect from the weather, earthquakes, teenagers, technology and its developments, space projects explorations or the decisions taken by governments in the pursuit of power.
We must not sit with folded arms waiting for other to act, it is essential to contribute to society and unite our forces to make the world “a better place”.

My name is Andres Correa Monteiro, I was born in Bogota, Colombia, I come from a Portuguese family on my mother’s side, who was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I grew up in Colombia, a country where few have opportunities and amenities but many of us are honest, friendly, responsible, hard workers and are constantly “fighting” to keep the boat "floating" and balance a society hit by terrorism and internationally stigmatized because of a small violent group.
My whole life has been developed between Bogota, Rio de Janeiro, Porto and Cambridge (UK) but I wouldn’t change my life in Colombia for nothing. I'm a proud Colombian, my goal as citizen is to change the bad and wrong image of my country and contribute to the steady growth that Colombian economy has experienced in recent years.
I am an Industrial Engineer and currently I am responsible for increasing the profitability of DIRECTV in my country (Colombia), the third most important for the organization in Latin America after Brazil and Mexico. I take care of the marketing strategies and relationship with the programmers (HBO, Moviecity and Adult Channels). I previously worked at Oracle Corporation Latinamerica in CRM applications and then as marketing coordinator.
... do I do on my free time?
Since my childhood I used to play tennis, I love cars and boats. I like going out, dancing and sharing with my friends. I love traveling and seeing new places.
